300 BEDS GENERAL HOSPITAL
In collaboration with LDP+ Partners Architectural firm, QSD healthcare planning design team was assigned to set medical planning & healthcare design for 400 beds general hospital in the heart of Riyadh . The 23,000 square meter, 6 storey facility is a healthcare landmark and celebration of life. The design optimizes the day to day hospital work flow and operations, while enhancing the patient experience. The 400 bed hospital features medical and surgical services, inpatient and outpatient surgical suites, an emergency department and ICU.
HEALTHCARE LANDMARK IN THE HEART OF RIYADH
A special focus is given to maternity services, including a high risk pregnancy unit, LDR rooms, mother and baby unit and NICU nursery. The building’s design creates a memorable, recognizable identity for the hospital. The design also exudes a welcoming serenity that draw inspiration from cultural and regional influences. The front facade takes advantage of the solar orientation and site shape while offering a distinctive landmark. The hospital is aimed at creating an environment of care focused on comfort and healing. A 2 story lobby and waiting area overlooking the main street creates an inviting entry into the facility. The design implements the guidelines set by the american institute of architects for design and construction of healthcare facilities. & FGI facility guidelines, while medical equipment planning guidelines are implemented in reference to HBN & HTMs Sustainable principles have been incorporated into the design, including energy and water use reductions, use of sustainable materials during construction and the creation of operational policies for recycling, cleaning and occupant comfort.
