CENTRAL HEALING GARDEN 

QSD was assigned by Integromed Medical ConsultanT for the medical planning , renovation & expansion of Zowara General Hospital, The project is based on 2 components : the existing building renovation at the south includinh the main enetrance / recption & other amenities , also includes OPD clinics at ground level while hossing Inpatient wards at 1st level , the 2nd part of building is a new construction building to host all medical support & non medical support departments, including emergency, imaging, surgical procedures and other support services , while hosting ICU & Inpatients wards at 1st & 2nd levels, the 2 buildings are connected through a glazed linked atrium with an intermediate healing vegetetad garden for both patients ans staff while creating a welcoming visual approach for visitors & Outpatinets at ground level

Integrated MEDICAL PROGRAM

The  hospital program components are arranged to delive an integrated full medical service for Zowara local citizens including, Emergency, OPD clinics, imaging, laborarories, pharmacies, Physical therapy & wellness centre, surgical procedures (4- capsule OR Suites), 14 ICU & CCU beds  , Inpatients wards 42 beds, publiac amaneities & adminstrations  as well as other medical & and non medical support facilities including CSSD, kitchen, staff dining , morgue, housekeeping & materials managment, laundry , waste,..etc .

LOCAL MATERIALS / SUSTAINABILITY & HERITAGE

Design theme for external building skin & facades is inspired by local environments regarding hot climate considerations & using local stone cladding material for thermal isolation as well as minimizing glazing openings as much as possible at southern facades with shades & upper louvers to minimize heat island effect & minimize thermal loads as well power consumption loads needed for HVAC requirements . Design aim is blending local identity with contemporary building look & features. Additionally Landscape design approach is to maximize vegetations , roof gardens & green shaded intermediate areas/spaces  as well as using water features to minimize healt island effect for the surrounding building environment & allow for cool breezes aroung building skin
